Science tool questions!?!?!

While reviewing science tools, we had a couple questions! Do some research and let us know the answers!

1. We know a barameter tells us the atmospheric pressure, but what does it really do? How does it help us?

2. We discussed how wind socks tell us the direction the wind is blowing, but why is one on the Allen hospital?

3. We understand that magnets have different poles, but why? Why can you sometimes feel the resistance between two magnets? What causes the resistance?

Find the answers and be our science expert of the weekend!

  1. A magnetic field line starts at the north pole and ends at the south pole [ in reality the line go through the magnet and connects inside.

  2. Barometers help us by measuring the air pressure in the atmosphere which could cause weather problems.

  5. A barometer helps us by telling us if bad weather is coming or not. That is how barometer helps us.

  6. a barameter is a sientific insterment used to measure atmopheric pressure pressure tendency can forcast short term changes in weather.

  7. A barometer helps us with meteorology.. like telling if it rains or if it will be sunny.

  8. magnet the poles on the magnet a to pool objects.
the different magnetic poles help it pull/attract and detracks it.

  9. A barometer is used to help predict the weather. If it goes down, the weather gets worse. If it goes up, it gets sunny and nice. It probably uses the air pressure to determine the weather.

  10. A barometer helps us predict weather.(And you are the best teacher!)

  11. A magnet acts like a compass in the earth's magntic field. If two bar magnets are brought close together, the poles will repel each other.

  13. Inside the earth is a iron inner core surrounded by a liquid iron shell. Electricity flows while the earth rotates in iron which sets up a magnetic field around the earth like a bar magnet. It has a north and a south pole direction. This magnetic field exits on the earths crust at the geomagnetic poles and extends loops of magnetic field force into space to connect the two poles.

  14. 1. Barameter help us in life by knowing air pressure and also it’s important because both dicates what kind of weather is going on. Also can be used to predict what type of weather be coming soon.

  15. You can't feel the resistance because there a north and a south and when south and south are put face to face they stick, and when north and south put face to face the y don't stick.

  16. Why is air pressure important?
Because air pressure both dictates what kind of weather is going on and also predicts what type of weather might be coming soon!!

  17. Hey Mrs.Lang my dad told me that the windsock at the Allen hospital today.
here is what he told me,( The windsock tells the people that fly the helicopters which way the wind is blowing, so they can land the helicopter.)

  18. A barometer is a tool that measures atmospheric pressure. or the weight of the air. Barometers are widely used to forecast weather because a change in atmospheric pressure indicated that a change of weather will soon follow.
